Il Progetto AI SMART rientra nell’asse Prioritario 3 Sistema sostenibile dei trasporti, finalizzato a favorire l’uso di energie alternative e soluzioni green nei trasporti e incentivare il traffico merci e persone con investimenti, anche strutturali, nei settori del trasporto aereo, navale e mobilità urbana sostenibile e con soluzioni ICT.

Il progetto AI SMART è un progetto strategico di cooperazione europea.
Obiettivo generale
Il Progetto AI SMART mira all’implementazione e allo sviluppo di una rete portuale comune in area adriatico-ionica; tale rete è fondata sul concetto di “porto intelligente, verde e integrato” e orientata a collegare i piccoli porti dei Paesi transfrontalieri coinvolti.
In dettaglio, il progetto promuove lo sviluppo del trasporto marittimo di corto raggio, inteso come parte delle rotte intermodali per consentire lo sviluppo di modalità sostenibili di trasporto, in accordo con gli obiettivi della Strategia Europea 2020 per una crescita intelligente che valorizzi le risorse naturali e paesaggistiche dell’entroterra.
Obiettivi specifici
Incrementare la competitività delle regioni coinvolte, lavorando lungo tre direttrici:
Il budget complessivo assegnato per la realizzazione dell’intero Progetto ammonta ad € 17.250.000,00, di cui la somma pari a € 8.710.000,00 è destinata alle attività previste dalla Regione Puglia.
Grazie ad un disciplinare sottoscritto nel settembre del 2020, attuativo di una Convenzione tra l’AdSP MAM e la Regione Puglia, Dipartimento Mobilità, Qualità Urbana, Opere Pubbliche, Ecologia e Paesaggio, l’Authority è ente attuatore del progetto AI SMART ed partecipando alla realizzazione dei seguenti interventi per un importo stimato di € 1.886.400,00:

The Puglia Region – Department of Mobility, Urban Quality, Public Works, Ecology and Landscape – is the Lead Beneficiary of the strategic project “AI SMART – Adriatic Ionian Small Port Network” funded by the INTERREG V-A Greece-Italy 2014/2020 programme, in partnership with Ionian Islands Region, Region of Epirus and Region of Western Greece.
The AI SMART Project falls under Priority Axis 3 Sustainable Transport System, aimed at fostering the use of alternative energy and green solutions in transport and boosting freight and passenger traffic with investments, including structural investments, in the fields of air, ship and sustainable urban mobility and with ICT solutions.

The AI SMART project is a strategic European cooperation project.
Overall Objective
The AI SMART Project aims at the implementation and development of a common port network in the Adriatic-Ionian area; this network is based on the concept of “smart, green and integrated port” and oriented to connect the small ports of the involved cross-border countries.
In detail, the project promotes the development of short sea shipping, understood as part of intermodal routes to enable the development of sustainable modes of transport, in accordance with the objectives of the European Strategy 2020 for smart growth that enhances the natural and landscape resources of the hinterland.
Specific objectives
To increase the competitiveness of the regions involved, working along three lines:
The total budget allocated for the implementation of the entire Project amounts to € 17,250,000.00, of which the sum of € 8,710,000.00 is earmarked for activities planned by the Apulia Region.
Thanks to a contract signed in September 2020, implementing a Convention between AdSP MAM and the Apulia Region, Department of Mobility, Urban Quality, Public Works, Ecology and Landscape, the Authority is implementing entity of the AI SMART project and participating in the implementation of the following interventions for an estimated amount of € 1,886,400.00:
– implementation of an ICT Platform functional for the development of the Network of regional and cross-border ports called AI SMART capable of promoting the development of short sea shipping, as part of intermodal routes, through the networking of all the transport services attached to and offered by the ports under the jurisdiction of the ADSPMAM;
– adaptation of the multimedia and interactive device already installed in the port of Monopoli in the implementation of the Interreg V-A Greece – Italy 2014/2020 project “Themis”, so that through the said device it is also possible to consult the IT platform dedicated to the Interreg project “AI SMART” not only for the entire duration of the said project but also in the next 5 (five) from the date of its conclusion ) pursuant to Article 71 of Reg. (EU) No 1303/2013. The adjustment of the said device, provided for in correspondence with deliverable 4.1.4, budget line External Expertise and Services of the JoB associated with Application Form 3.2, will be performed by subject identified by the Region through public procedure;
– support for the verification of the feasibility of the “Metro Sea Project” involving the ports of Bari, Mola di Bari, Monopoli, Brindisi, Otranto and the subsequent activation of a cross-border Otranto -Corfu fast link for the activities of necessary for the docking of vessels in the ports of competence ADSPMAM (Bari-Monopoli-Brindisi);
– “Port of Bari. Works for remodeling and new configuration of the driveway and pedestrian gates of the Port Facility pier San Vito extra Schengen and adjustment of the road system”, variants excluded, CUP: B97H18002240001, CIG: 808334072F, referred to deliverable 4.1.4, budget line External Expertise and Services of the project document Justification of the budget (JoB) associated with Application Form 3.2;
– “Mixed works and services contract, with services prevailing, called “Seabed sediment characterization plan for the commercial port of Manfredonia (fg),” CUP: I36J20000260005, CIG: 8508193EF6, referred to in deliverable 3.1.4, budget line External Expertise and Services of the JoB associated with Application Form 3.2;
– “Port of Monopoli – Performance of aero-photogrammetric, topographic, bathymetric, morphological and stratigraphic surveys,” CIG: Y1330D26AA, referred to in deliverable 3.1.4, budget line External Expertise and Services of the JoB associated with Application Form 3.2.
